Sustainability and Innovation at MDF 2023
We worked with the organization of the Monegros Desert Festival to reduce its environmental impact. During the 2023 edition, a collection of furniture for the chill-out areas was developed using recycled plastics.
The challenge
The Monegros Desert Festival organization aims to adopt more sustainable measures to mitigate the environmental impact generated by this festival.
The prewaste solution
The Sustainability Team at Prewaste worked closely with the MDF organization, supporting its transformation towards a more responsible model. By quantifying and analyzing the environmental impact derived from hosting a festival of this scale, we were able to identify potential points for change and propose measures to reduce it. We collaborated across our Consulting, Training, Communication, and Innovation departments, focusing on five key categories for the festival:
1. Segregation operations
2. Resource management
3. Training strategy + Social Media and signage
4. Calculation of environmental metrics
5. Circular economy projects
